stevensullivan > Boarding our Virgin Atlantic flight to Cape Town. Virgin's Upper Class is nice, but a bit overrated. The seats were comfortable for sitting, but way too firm when flipped over in bed mode for sleeping. The food on our flight to Cape Town was amazing, but it was less so on the return from Johannesburg a couple of weeks later. Overall it wasn't a bad way to fly, but the premium cabins on some other airlines do offer a better experience.

And, yes, the lights in this photo really are purple.

stevensullivan > First morning in Cape Town – stunning views of the city, Table Mountain, Lion's Head, and Table Bay from the lounge at the top floor of the Westin. This was one of the best hotel lounges we've experienced; every morning we were greeted by a complimentary multi-course breakfast, with a choice of about a dozen hot entrées, a huge spread of breakfast breads, pastries, and cereals, and a juice bar with about a dozen freshly squeezed flavors. This hotel is one of Starwood's best redemption opportunities in Africa.
